The third heat of A Dal, the Hungarian national selection took place in Budapest tonight. Ten more acts performed and the six more acts qualified for the next phase via televoting and jury votes. There will be two semi finals of A Dal before the grand final to decide who will represent Hungary at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest.
The songs –
1. Lilla Polyak -Valami más
She is wearing a long brown robe and red dress. The song is an uptempo dance song with great energy. Strong vocals by Lilla. She is joined by two female and one male backing singers.
2. Krisztián Burai –Született szívtörő
The song begins as if monks are chanting and then turns in to a rock type song. There are two female backing vocalists and two male guitarists and a male drummer. Krisztián is casually dressed in jeans, red t-shirt and black leather jacket.
3. Mónika Hoffmann – Hullócsillag
Mónika is wearing a long black dress and she has the most amazing long red hair. She is joined by three female backing singers and two male drummers. The song has a club dance beat.
4. United –Tegnap még más voltál
United are a four piece male band. We have keyboards, drummer and guitarist. This is a light electro rock song with some strong percussion production.
5. Laura Cserepes – Élj pont úgy
Laura is wearing a long white dress and is joined by three female and one male backing vocalists. The song is an anthemic ballad with strong melody and excellent vocals.
6. Flash Travel feat. Péter Újvári – Soha ne add fel az álmaidat
This is a six piece band with five males and one female. The song is light rock with some folk overtones. There are two guitarists (one male and one female). The judges like this.
7. Fatima Mohamed – Nem baj
Fatima is wearing a black suit and white shirt with loose tie and a black cap. She is joined by two male dancers and three backing vocalists (one male and two girls). The song has a club beat.
8. Bence Brasch –Túl egyszerű
Brasch is wearing a black jacket and grey trousers. There are two female backing vocalists and one male. There is also a male pianist. The song is a ballad with a nice melody.
9. Gigi Radics –Úgy fáj
Gigi is wearing a multi coloured top and dark pants. There are two female backing vocalists. There is also a female cellist and male pianist on stage. The song is a ballad that really builds. It has a lovely ballad and Gigi has a strong presentation on stage with excellent vocals.
10. Puskás Peter – Amíg a tűz ég
Peter is dressed in a black leather jacket and black t-shirt and jeans. There is one male and one female backing vocalists. There is also male drummer, guitarist and pianist. Soft rock song with guitar elements.
The show –
The show started at 20:15 CET and it was again hosted by Gábor Gundel-Takács with Éva Novodomszky and Márton Buda. The stage was very large with effective lighting. There are stairs on the right of the stage. The interval includes a Hungarian combination act performing S.O.S. by ABBA. Then we had Micheller Myrtil performing a French song, Je T’aime.

Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest:
Hungary has participated at the Eurovision Song Contest ten times with Friderika Bayer as their first entrant in 1994. It left the competition after the 1998 contest, coming back in 2005 and reaching the 12th place with NOX. In 2006 the country announced it would not participate although it returned in 2007 with Magdi Rúzsa. In 2010 it withdrew due to financial reasons being back in 2011 with Kati Wolf. Last year, the band Compact Disco made it to the final where they were ranked in penultimate position with just nineteen points.
