Soraya hits the dance floor with new song, Plastic

Soraya’s new single has been presented today and it is part of her upcoming album entitled Universe In Me that will be released on the 11th of November. Plastic sounds like a hit, elegant, fresh and perfect for such a talented artist.

After her latest album, Soraya, who represented Spain at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, left her record label to produce her own songs by herself with the help of her fans who were the main sponsors. Now, she is about to release her sixth studio album, the first one which is entirely produced by her very own record label named Valentia Records.

Plastic is the first single of her new album, Universe In Me, that will consist of fourteen songs of various styles sung in English and in Spanish language. This new single is a nice electro-pop experiment that reminds to the biggest hits from the disco music of the 80s and 90s that Soraya has versioned superbly well in her two previous albums (Ochenta’s and Dolce Vita).

Compared to her previous hits, Plastic stands out as a throwback to the dance and house music from the 90s but it is not nearly as addictive or as catchy as Live Your Dreams or as sultry as Dreamer but it is a different side of her. At least, with this song we can again enjoy the powerful voice of Soraya, something that we missed in her previous single, Con Fuego, which she has wisely decided not to include on the album’s track list.

Plastic is now available on digital stores and you can listen to a snippet in the video below.
