Albania are normally one of the first countries to host a national selection to select their song for Eurovision. This year is no exception as the local broadcaster, RTSH, have announced the dates when competition will be begin to find the Albanian representative at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.
The 52nd Festivali i Këngës will take place in Tirana over three nights on Friday 20 December, Saturday 21 December and the grand final will be on Sunday 22 December. The shows will take place at the Pallati i Kongreseve in Tirana.
Preparations are already underway to select the songs for the national selection. Songs should be submitted by 9 October. After a few weeks a professional jury will analyse and select the songs that will take place in the Albanian selection to eventually find the song that will represent them in Copenhagen in May 2014.
Bledar Sejko & Adrian Lulgjuraj sang Identitet at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden but did not make it through to the final.
