After the success in the Swedish pre selection Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Song Contest, Loreen releases her much longed for debut album today titled Heal. She gives you 12 songs – of course including her 2012 Eurovision winner Euphoria.
Despite what you may think, Loreen’s career didn’t start in Melodifestivlen. Loreen was first known to the Swedish viewers when she participated in Swedish Idol in 2004 where she finished fourth. Since then Loreen has been working as a presenter at a Swedish tv station and as a producer and director for several Swedish reality TV shows.
Loreen participated in Melodifestivalen for the first time in 2011 with the song My Heart is Refusing Me. On that occasion her journey in Melodifestivalen ended in the second chance round when she lost the head to head battle with Sara Varga and her song Spring för livet.
Although the song became a huge hit in Sweden climbing the Swedish charts for many weeks.
In 2012 Loreen participated in Melodifestivalen again with the song Euphoria. Already after her first performance in the first semi final of Melodifestivalen 2012 Swedish viewers stated that Loreen should be the one to represent Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. And as it turned out, in the final of Melodifestivalen Loreen received the highest amount of votes both from the juries and the viewers which made her the Swedish representative in Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. At the Eurovision Song Contest in May the success continued when Loreen won a landslide victory with a total of 372 points, 113 points ahead of the runner up Russian Buranovskiye Babushki.
Today, on October 24th Loreen releases her debut album Heal. Four singles has been released from the album:
My Heart is Refusing Me (February 2011), Sober (September 2011), Euphoria (February 2012) and Crying Out Your Name (October 2012).
Recently the success story seemed to have come to an end. On October 16th Loreen and Warner Music Sweden posted a message on Loreen’s Facebook page informing the readers that Loreen’s album Heal had leaked online due to a technical failure. Loreen’s record label chose not to change the releasedate for Heal, the official release are still today October 24th.
