Prior to representing his native Sweden with Just Nu! in 1980, Tomas Ledin could already look back on an eight year long career. Just Nu! gave him his first number one and he has gone on to become one of Sweden’s most respected artists, with a career spanning forty years. Ledin intends to celebrate in style with a mini tour throughout Scandinavia.
The ladies have always had a keen eye for Tomas Ledin, and even though he has turned 60, his popularity still shows no sign of waning. With songs such as En Del av Mitt Hjärta, Never Again and Vi Är På Gång, Ledin has managed to accumulate an enviable catalogue of hits. The ever popular artist is pushing the boat out, celebrating both his 60 years and 40 year anniversary as a hitmaker by playing six dates in Finland, Sweden and Norway. His most recent concert in Helsingborg (2nd of August) had people reaching for the superlatives, lavishing him with praise for the show. Fans certainly have a lot to look forward to, when he gives his other concerts in Sundsvall (4th of August), Jakobstad, Finland (11th of August), Helsinki, Finland (12th of August) and Sandviken (18th of August). Ledin is currently riding high in the Swedish ablum charts with his career retrospective 40 år/40 hits (40 years and 40 hits) so he should have plenty of treats up his sleeve for fans.
In a brief interview with tabloid Expressen, Ledin tells of how he has however grown tired of some of his earlier hits, even changing some of the lyrics adapting them to suit where he is right now in his life. He goes on to discuss his enduring popularity with the ladies, saying that the feeling is entirely mutual!
His mini sumemr tour will finish in spectacular style, when Ledin kicks off Showtime at the Circus venue in Stockholm on the 20th of September, where he will give 52 concerts right through until the 15th of December.
