Salvador Sobral forced to cancel shows due to health condition

Salvador Sobral was forced to cancel two shows and reschedule a third one due to his heart condition. A representative for the singer announced the news via Facebook and revealed that the singer should be back to work by September 8th.

It seems like the challenges of fame are getting to Salvador and harming his heart condition. In a Facebook post, the singer’s agency revealed the cancellation of three shows naming the “need of controlling his health condition” as the reason: “Salvador Sobral won’t be able to perform in the following days due to medical symptoms,” it reads. “In order to control his health condition, the singer will have to pause his activity for a few days.”

In total, Salvador is cancelling two shows and rescheduling another one that were due to take place between August 31st and September 2nd. Fado In Box – his agency – predicts that the Eurovision winner should be making a return to the stage on September 8th in Cascais.

Luísa Sobral had to cover for Salvador Sobral in Kyiv

This is not the first time that the Amar Pelos Dois singer is forced to reschedule his career plans due to his health condition. Salvador suffers from heart arrhythmia (in other words, irregular heartbeat) and has a pacemaker implanted under his skin.

In May, back to the Eurovision rehearsals, his doctor advised him to skip them as he couldn’t be away from Portugal for that amount of time, in case a donor was available to proceed with a heart transplant. In his place, his sister (Luísa Sobral) travelled to Kyiv and completed the rehearsals successfully.

Thankfully, his team allowed him a full week in Ukraine and Salvador was able to fulfill his commitments.
