Festivali i Kenges, Albania’s very own music festival, premiered tonight; a format which has been used as the selection for their Eurovision artist since their debut in 2004.
Tonight, we’ve seen eleven entries take to the stage at the Palace of Congresses in a bid to get to Saturday’s Final. The show promised to bring great music and performances and it didn’t disappoint. There is a sort of Gravitas that comes with the Festival, a grandeur illustrated by the use of an orchestra.
The show started with a series of non competing musical performances, one of which was none other than Eurovision 2015 entrant Elhaida Dani, and after the best part of an hour the first competing artist, Elton Deda hit the stage.
Tonight’s show saw the return of previous Eurovision representative Luiz Ejlli who wasn’t successful in Athens when he crashed out of the Semi Final in 14th Place. There was no qualifier announcement tonight, it was previously reported that all successful artists from the Semi Finals would be revealed at the end of the second semi final.
To keep you all entertained until the second semi final here is Luiz’s performance at Eurovision 2006.
Stay tuned for all the up to date information on Albania’s Eurovision selection, and see who will represent their country in Lisbon next May.
