Today the Dutch entry for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest was presented. Trijntje Oosterhuis will sing Walk Along in Vienna. After 8 years in a row in the cold, the country made it to the final the past two year and are now aiming to repeat that with this entry.
With Trijntje Oosterhuis the Netherlands are continuing their recent line of sending successful artists to the Eurovision Song Contest. Question is just if Walk Along has what it takes to follow Anouk‘s 9th placing with Birds and Common Linnet‘s second place with Calm After The Storm.
Walk Along, which was presented today sounds nothing like the previous two entries. It is written by Anouk and fans seems to love it judging the reactions from various social media platforms. After two years with simple beautiful ballads, the Dutch entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is significantly different. It is a lot more repititative pop song and Trijntje’s voice sounds very stretched at moments. The latter might change the closer we come to the contest in May and she gets more familar with it.
Listen to Walk Along and judge for yourself if this is what will bring the Netherlands to the final for the third year in a row.
