French entry to be aired today

According to French Eurovision website eurovision-fr.net, the French entry for Düsseldorf is supposed to be aired today on the radio station France Bleue. As reported earlier, it was rumoured that Amaury Vassili was one of the two contenders in the running to represent France, which has since been confirmed.

Young Amaury’s entry, Sognu (Dream) will be sung in Corsican, the first time an entry has been selected in Corsican for France since Patrick Fiori sang Mama Corsica in 1993. It is morever the first time a song has represented France in another language than French since Dan Ar Braz’ entry Diwanit Bugale from 1996.

Little is yet known about Sognu, although it has been disclosed that the song will be in an operatic style, very dramatic and practically tailor made for the tenor’s voice. Sognu has been composed by Daniel Moyne and Quentin Bachelet and Jean-Pierre Marcellesi has written the lyrics. The broadcasting time of the entry on France Bleue was at the time of writing yet to be confirmed. The track was recorded last week and Amaury will apparently be releasing a video of his entry later on this week.
