Brian Kennedy releases album of cover versions

A new album from Brian Kennedy, who represented Ireland in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, has just been released. The album features 13 cover versions of songs previously sung by names such as Van Morrison, U2, Frank Sinatra and Joe Cocker.

The album called Interpretations is a collection of thirteen songs spread widely to include various music genres as well as being a journey that gives you classic songs from various decades. It is songs, which Brian Kennedy loves himself and he is very keen on giving the songs the respect they deserve. On the album he writes this as a personal note: “I offer my respect to all the writers of those extraordinary songs. My main concern was sticking to the brilliant melodies and lyrics that were so carefully and masterfully composed in the first place.”
