On Saturday, March 20th 2012 Sweden will select who is going to represent the country in Baku in May. Today, Thursday was the first time the artists rehearsed their act in the Globe arena. EuroVisionary managed to get a few words with Danny Saucedo and Lisa Miskovsky before the rehearsals started.

Can you tell me a little bit about your song, what is it about?
Amazing is about a relationship with someone that makes you feel awesome. So it’s a celebration. I’m trying to tell the person or someone that I like how good that person makes me feel. And that person is of course amazing.
So, is it about a specific person?
Yeah, or, it’s pretty open, but yeah I was thinking about, I’m religious so I was thinking about my belief, my god and also I was thinking about my girlfriend. It’s pretty open to everyone that’s listening to the song that can relate to and maybe think about their boyfriend or girlfriend, father or mother, brother or sister you know.
Last year when you participated you were the runner up, what made you want to participate again this year?
As a pop artist it is you know, I always want to do cool performances. And the only way and the only spot you can do that is on Melodifestivalen here in Sweden, because it’s held in big arenas and there is cameras and lights for millions of dollars. And you know it’s just fun to be in this circus, it’s really fun. You get a lot of attention and people hear your music. You reach out in a pretty awesome way. So that’s why I want to be a part of it. But this time I really feel like I want to take the next step and I want to be a part of Eurovision and I want to represent Sweden.
What question that I didn’t ask you would you like to ask yourself and what would the answer be?
Wow, hm. Danny looks at the artist at the table next to him, Top Cats and asks: Why are they singing? And the answer is: I don’t know.

Why did you choose to participate in Melodifestivalen?
I went to Norway on a songwriting session and I met these three guys. I had the song with me, or I had a couple of songs that we worked with. I’d never met them before and we just worked for a couple of days and we had such a good time. I came back with close to finished songs. People wanted to hear what we had done and were curious to listen. And then I got the question, do you want to participate in Melodifestivalen, we want to send one of the songs to the people that are the jury. And I’ve said no three times because you know I don’t know what it is you know, I’ve heard so many different point of views about Melodifestivalen. Everything from its chaos all the time and the journalists are crazy and you know, everything from this to that. And I heard it’s fun and nice and you meet a lot of people, everything is well organized. So I was like, I have to go and find out myself. Christer Björkman called me and explained what kind of event Melodifestivalen is, what they wanted to do with the songs, that it’s a celebration to good songs and artists and I said yeah, why not.
Did you expect to be one of the two acts going right through to the final from your semi final?
No, not even close. I was chocked but in a pleasant way.
