The hosting cities of Melodifestivalen 2016

Today the swedish broadcaster SVT revealed the hosting cities of the swedish national selection Melodifestivalen 2016. The final is going to be held at Friends Arena for the fourth consecutive year and Halmstad is making its debut as host city for one of the heats.

The complete schedule for Melodifestivalen 2016:

 February 20  Heat 3  Norrköping  Himmelstalundshallen
 February 27  Heat 4  Gävle  Gavlerinken Arena
 March 5  Second Chance  Halmstad  Halmstad Arena
 March 12  Final  Stockholm  Friends Arena

Stockholm has hosted the final all the way back to 2002 while Göteborg and Malmö have both been hosts of Melodifestivalen heats several times. Norrköping was host for a heat in 2002 and for the Second chance heat in 2009. Gävle hosted a heat in 2007 while Halmstad will host the their first heat in the history of the competition.
