Day four at the Eurovision house kicked off with a lively rehearsal from Poli Genova. Rock is an interesting way to start the day and she didn’t disappoint.
We start the day with a song that’s not in English. Poli appears to be the classic rock-chick, but she’s glammed herself up for the contest. Along with her band, she dressed all in white. Her band consists of three girls on electric guitar, making them vedry Vanilla Ninja. We also have a girl sat at a piano and a guy on drums.
Poli had a few slight technical problems and tried various changes to the staging of the song. In one run through she used the catwalk, where she discarded her long white dress to reveal a shorter white dress, black leggings and knee length black boots. In another run through she stayed on the main stage and put a lot more emotion into her performance. During her final run through, we saw the appearance of flames around the back of the stage. This all made it very dramatic. The back drop is based around water droplets on glass – in contrast to the flames on stage.
As a result, we don’t yet know how this will actually look next Thursday. What we do know, however, is that this is the first in a run of uptempo numbers and as it’s the first, may get it noticed.
