Danish broadcaster, DR, has today announced Per Zachariassen as Senior Producer for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. He will be taking a break from his job at Freemantle Media in the US, but he is very much looking forward to the new challenges awaiting him.
Per Zachariassen has 20 years of experience, is educated TV director from the Danish Film Academy. He was involved in large DR productions like X-factor before he left for the US and a job at Freemantle Media two years ago.
About this new job as Senior Producer for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest Per says: "I am looking so much forward to being a part of the team behind the Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark. Eurovision is not just one of the world’s largest TV shows, it is also one of the oldest current TV concepts and an integrated part of Europe’s TV history. I am proud to get the opportunity to put my fingerprints on the show. I am taking up this challenge with big joy".
Eurovision Song Contest isn’t completely new to him either as Per Zachariassen was a part of the Danish delegation at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest held in Moscow.
Few weeks ago DR appointed Pernille Gaardbo as Executive Producer for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, and also Jan Lagerman Lundme to be in charge of the content of the show and Søren Therkelsen to stand for partner relations.
Jan will be working closely together with Per Zachariassen, about which he says: "To make one of the world’s largest TV shows you need to have some of the world’s best people – and there is no doubt that Per is one of the best in the business. Aside from an enormous experience with entertainment shows, Per has a rare ability to combine the tradition with new innovation. In a show like Eurovision where the framework is already given it is a great skill to be able to see possibilities instead of limitations".
