Last year’s Eurovision winner Emmelie de Forest will be the special guest of the Maltese national final to take place on 8th February. The Maltese national broadcaster confirmed that the Danish hero will release her new single in Malta.
Emmelie de Forest will perform in the interval act of the Maltese national selected scheduled for Friday 7th and Saturday 8th February. The winner of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest will release her brand new single Rainmaker. “I look very much forward to play the song in Malta for the first time
and I am very excited to see how you will perceive it” said Emmelie to PBS.
Rainmaker will be the official theme song for the Eurovision Grand Final in Copenhagen in May. The Danish star will also perform Only Teardrops which earned her a Eurovision victory in Malmö. Emmelie is also expected to perform with the fourteen Maltese finalists. Emmelie de Forest is the third international guest confirmed in the Maltese selection after that Ukranian hopeful Maria Yaremchuk and the Swiss representative to be selected in Die Grosse Entscheidungsshow 2014 will perform on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th February respectively.
PBS also confirmed the news about the hosts for the 2014 Malta Eurovision Song Contest reported earlier this month on eurovisionary.com. Popular artist Ira Losco and doctor feel good Gianluca Bezzina will host the semi-final and final show of the Maltese national selection. They will be joined by popular local presenter Moira Delia who will give updates from the green room.
On 7th of February twenty acts will compete for fourteen places in the
final where the Maltese entry will be selected to represent the island
in Copenhagen, Denmark for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.
