Pinkpop is, if not the, then at least one of, the oldest still running music festivals in the world. It’s a three days festival held at Landgraaf in the Netherlands. It has been held every year since 1970 whereas Denmark’s famous Roskilde Festival started in 1971.
The Pinkpop Festival is held every year, often at Pentecost, with the exception of 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015 and 2016 where other weekends were chosen. It’s visited by up to 68,000 people each day, and initially started as a one day event. The three days festival it now is an important part of the Dutch music scene. For the artists, it is considered an honour to perform at Pinkpop.
