National selection for the Lithuanian Eurovision 2016 entry

LRT, the Lithuanian broadcaster, opened today the submission period for this year’s national selection. Eurovizijos Dainų Konkursą 2016 will be the format Lithuania will be using for selecting their representative for the 61st Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. Submissions for the competition are open now and will close on 1st December. Iceland opens for Söngvakeppnin submissions

Next year Iceland celebrates 30 years in the Eurovision Song Contest and broadcaster RUV confirmed yesterday that they will once again use Söngvakeppnin as the national final to select their participant for Eurovision 2016. Submissions for the competition are open now and will close on 2nd of November. Less than two months left for the 2015 edition of Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Slovenia and the Netherlands selected their participant this weekend through the process of a national final, while San Marino became the 16th country which has confirmed its participation in the 13th Junior Eurovision in Bulgaria, Sofia. France opens submission period for Eurovision 2016

Only a day after the United Kingdom announced their open call for songs, news came from another Big 5 country. France announced their open call for songs, which starts now and ends on the 31st of October. Their winner will be chosen by an internal committee from France Télévisions. Read more

Cyprus likely to go for internal selection for Eurovision 2016

After it’s announcement last week that Cyprus will take part in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden, the broadcaster already is planning their next steps. After the official announcement through ERT two weeks ago that Greece will participate in the next Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, preparations have already started. Eurovision Song Project again for Cyprus?

In an interview given today to Cypriot newspaper Fileleftheros, the Vice President of CyBC seemed to confirm participation for the island in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. He also revealed that the method they will use again will be the Eurovision Song Project, the same format they used for selecting their representative at Vienna. Read more

JESC 2015: Italy will defend its title in Sofia

After some controversial rumours, RAI has finally confirmed the Italian participation in the Junior Eurovision, which will be held on November 21st, in Sofia. Armenia to choose internally its JESC 2015 representative

The Armenian national broadcaster ARM TV announced that, like they have done since 2007, they will be taking part in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, too.
