Azerbaijan have selected Rustam Karimov to perform Me And My Guitar at the 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev on 30 November. The local broadcaster, Ictimai, selected both the singer and song from an internal selection.
Rustam Karimov is just 10 years old and he will fly the flag for Azerbaijan at the forthcoming Junior Eurovision to be held in Ukraine. His song is entitled Me And My Guitar.
He began singing at the age of two and went on to performs songs from cartoon movies for family concerts and then at kindergarden. He became very popular with the other kids and this gave Rustam the inspiration to learn more about music.
Rustam studied piano at Rashid Beybutov Music School in Baku. He also loves to play the drums and guitar. He will feel at home on the stage performing his Junior Eurovision entry, Me And My Guitar.
This will be Azerbaijan’s second attempt at the Junior Eurovision. Last year in Amsterdam they were represented by Omar Sultanov & Suada Alekberova with the song, Dünya Sənindir (Boys & Girls).
