As previously announced, the Eurovision Song Contest will for the 2009 edition include jury voting. Today it was announced that it will be a 50-50 deal just like at the newly held Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Tomorrow and Wednesday the reference group, will meet to plan more about how the juries will be made up, but EBU’s committee has already approved the suggestion with 50% of the votes decided by televoting and the other 50% by juries. All jury members should be music industry professionals, more details about how the jury members will be chosen is yet to be decided. Further details regarding that are to be announced soon.
Channel One, the Russian broadcaster who will organise the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, have already come a long way in their progress to organise it and the reference group will also be looking into these progress in order to make sure that everything will be ready on time.
