RTVE, the Spanish broadcaster presented this morning the video for Que Me Quiten Lo Bailao and the final version of the song that is composed by Rafael Artesero. This new version combines Latin percussion and a folk sound with violins, flutes, bagpipes, acoustic guitars and ukulele and is made to fit Lucía’s voice.
After her victory in Destino Eurovisión, Lucía Pérez has been working to adapt her voice and her style to the song and it looks like the result is more than satisfying.
The original version of the song, composed by Rafael Artesero, was written to be sung by a girl with quite a different voice than Lucía’s. Due to this changes had to be made, but with keeping the spirit of the song. The new version combines Latin percusion, mainly drums, and a folk air with violins, flutes, bagpipes, acoustic guitars and ukulele that gives a lot of rhythm to the song. In the middle of the song, there is a ‘batucada’ rhythm that will be very original in the live performance.
The chorus has been modified a bit. Lucía is not going to sing the familiar parachuru or uó-uó-uó that will be sung mostly by the backing singers, which will allow the singer to show her vocal qualities.
During the video clip, which was shot last weekend in Sitges, Lucía Pérez is a part of the Carnival celebration and she is singing and dancing with people who are dressed in fancy costumes. It is a happy, festive and casual video where the entire population of this Catalan town and some Eurovision Song Contest fans participated with a cheerful attitude.
Here the English translation of the final lyrics of the song:
They Can’t Take The Fun Away From Me. English title: I’m over the moon.
Ouo uo uo ouo uo uo
Who can take the fun I had away from me?
Ouo uo uo uo
I pinch myself everyday
thinking how lucky I am.
Cause’ I am not dreaming
all of this is reality.
Now I’m over the moon.
I have everything I hadn’t before.
I have you and all that you give me.
Although I know well
that storms may come
and I will fall down.
After all
I have enjoyed all this so much
and nobody can take the fun I had away from me.
Ouo uo uo ouo uo uo
Who can take the fun I’ve had away from me?
Ouo uo uo ouo uo uo
Who can take the fun I’ve had away from me?
Every moment together withyou
the feeling is sublime.
Come what may, I have no fears.
I put myself in your hands
I won’t bear the cross
I enjoy everything related to you.
Although I know well
that storms may come
and I will fall down
after all
I have enjoyed all this so much
and nobody can take the fun I had away from me.
Ouo uo uo ouo uo uo
Who can take the fun I’ve had away from me?
Ouo uo uo ouo uo uo
Who can take the fun I’ve had away from me?
I’m feeling so good,
I’m feeling so good
that I will never ever ever think
in a negative way.
