As we reported a couple of weeks ago the Irish Eurovision commentator, Marty Whelan, is in the race to become RTE’s celebrity Bainisteoir (Manager) of 2008.
In the latest episode, which was televised on RTE on Sunday evening, Marty won his semi-final match over Nell Mccafferty Derry team. Marty’s Westmeath team will now face a Cork side lead by celebrity solicitor Gerald Kean. The final of the competition is due to held in Parnell Park GAA grounds in Dublin on the 16th of May. The timing of the final doesn’t leave Marty much time relax before he has to hop on a plane to get to Belgrade to commentate for RTE on the first semi final on the 20th of May.
In Sunday’s show Marty received a message of good luck from none other than Dustin himself. The fowl lad himself wished Marty all the best and said that even though he didn’t know anything about football that he could win and cited his success at being a national DJ even though Dustin felt he knew nothing about music. It is most probable that this accusation could also be levelled at Dustin by many Eurovision fans.
