Luminița Anghel represented Romania at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest with group Sistem and the song Let Me Try. Now Luminița is aiming to return to the Eurovision stage. She has submitted the song Unique for the 2013 Romanian national selection composed by José Juan Santana Rodríguez and Rafael A. Herrero.
Luminița Anghel with Sistem helped achieve Romania’s best position so far at the Eurovision Song Contest by finishing in third place in 2005 in Kiev, Ukraine. In the semi final Let Me Try took first place.
Luminița is a well known singer, actress and all round TV presenter. To date she has released two albums, Șansa e de Partea Mea and Promisiuni.
Luminița also took part in the 2010 Romanian national selection with Save Their Lives with Tony Tomas and Adrian Piper. Now she is bidding to represent her country once again at Eurovision with Unique. The song is composed by José Juan Santana Rodríguez and Rafael A. Herrero, who themselves have a Eurovision pedigree. José co-wrote The Social Network Song for Valentina Monetta (San Marino 2012) and Just Get Out Of My Life for Andrea Demirovic (Montenegro 2009). Rafael wrote La mirada interior for Marian van de Wal (Andorra 2005) and Sense tu by Jenny (Andorra 2006).
Romania will hold two semi finals on 23 and 24 February with the final being held on the 9 March. The semi finalists will be announced on 18 February.
