Friday evening Louise Wolff, host of the 2012 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, was awarded with the honour "female TV host of the year". Louise herself appeared very surprised, but felt honoured that it was the TV viewers who voted for her.
Louise Wolff was already a well known TV host on DR when she was chosen to host the Danish national final. The TV viewers knew her from popular programmes like Sporløs and Aftenshowet, but a entertainment programme like Dansk Melodi Grand Prix was new to her.
Friday evening tabloid magazine Billed Bladet handed out their "TV gold" at a big galla event. It is considered a big honour to win won of their prizes as it is their readers and thereby directly the TV viewers who decide things. After being awarded with the title "Female TV host of the year", Louise Wolff said: "It is totally crazy and unexpected that I should win – it is usually one of the other amazingly talented female hosts. I think I have been lucky to be host of a big series of programmes and events, which the Danes like, and which in itself is good programmes. And then I have found a balance between being an ordinary person on the screen and being good at my work. It gives a lot of self confidence that it is the TV viewers who have voted for me".
