Israel makes good use of rehearsal time today

Day two of rehearsals started with Israel taking to the stage.  How would the slightly retro-sounding Time go down in the Crystal Hall?

Israel’s first rehearsal was fraught with technical problems.  Someone was apparently using wireless in the Crystal Hall, which is forbidden.  When Izabo did get going, they put on a very good show.

We didn’t see what outfits they would be wearing on the night. The set is quite effective.  The backdrop has two large alarm clocks slowly spinning around.  The opening also sees flashing lights that are almost strobes but multi-coloured.

Three of the four members of the band start in the centre before moving to different parts of the stage.  They are accompanied by two backing singers – one boy, one girl.  An interesting ploy used by them is howthey move around during the song.  They start at the end of ne of the catwalks.  They then move to the edge of the stage.  Finally they join the band.  Some effective camera work is used to include these backing singers.

All in all, they did not disappoint us this morning.  A few people in the press centre were humming the tune after the rehearsal finished.  So maybe this has a strong chance of making the final.

We will of course update you when Israel rehearses again later this week.
