Foreign composers welcome to contribute to 2011 Malta Eurovision selection

Foreign composers are welcome to contribute to the 2011 Malta Eurovision selection.  Fresh proposals were made by the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) to improve the level of songs for the next contest to decide the Malta entry for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest.

PBS have proposed that foreign composers can submit one song for the 2011 Malta selection.  Local songwriters can contribute up to 4 songs.  But the songs must be for different acts.

The singers must be Maltese or hold dual citizenship.  Each act can perform 2 songs.  If so, they are encouraged to be of a different style.

The first part of the competition will be decided from songs submitted on cd.

The next phase will be all songs sung live in front of a jury.

Probably 48 songs will progress to the next round where they will be performed on a weekly tv show.

There will be 16 songs in the final.

Last year Thea Garrett represented Malta with My Dream.
