Flatley becomes Lord of the Island

The most famous Eurovision interval act is widely agreed to be Riverdance from the 1994 contest.  The lead male role in that original line-up was Michael Flatley who has since shot to fame and amassed a small fortune from his own show ‘Lord of the Dance’.

Flatley already has several homes around the world and is now looking to add one more to his collection.  He has applied for planning permission to build a house on a small Island off the south coast of Ireland.  The Island is not as remote as many in the area and is connected to the mainland by a short bridge.  Flatley bought the 56 acre plot of land on the Island last year for over €4 million.

The application is seeking approval for an 856-sq m house that is said to be sympathetic to the wilderness of the area.  It is understood that Flatley hired a team of top architects to achieve this aim.  Planning permission is not expected to be decided upon for several months.
