Finalists from Melodifestivalen selling well

It is clear that Melodifestivalen has ended recently; all the Swedish finalists have simply invaded the Swedish single Top20. Only three out of the 20 best selling singles did not participate in the 2008 Swedish selection.

Charlotte Perrelli, who won the Swedish final, and will represent the country in Belgrade is currently #1 on the charts that counts both actual sales in the stores as well as legal downloads.

Sanna Nielsen, who won the public voting, but lost the ticket to Belgrade due to jury points, is now #3 after losing the second position to BWO’s Lay your love on me that has taken quite a big jump from entering the charts at #16 last week.

The top 10 is pretty much all the finalists. The only difference is that Christer Sjögren’s I love Europe is to be found at #15. Instead E-type & The Poodles, who didn’t make it further than to the second chance round, have made it to #9.

The big favourites who ended up as big losers; Carola Häggkvist and Andreas Johnson are #11, one place ahead of Ola’s Love in stereo. He was another of the favourites to win the second chance that had to face the fact that bookmarkers aren’t always right.

Thérèse Andersson, who appeares to have thrown away a secure place in the final when she offended her opponent in the second chance round, is not even to be found in Top20! Instead we find Velvet and her Deja vû as #17 and Patrick Isaksson’s Under mitt tunna skinn as #17.

On the album Top20 we find both Melodifestivalen as well as Eurovision names. Nordman’s new album, Djävul eller gud (Devil or God) is third best selling album in Sweden right now and Amy Diamond’s Music in motion is to be found at #6. Sibel’s album The Diving Belle is #9.

Three times Eurovision winner Johnny Logan, has conquered the whole of Scandinavia with his album The Irish connection. The album that was recorded in Denmark and mentioned as a present to his Danish fans has sold extremely well in both Denmark, Norway and Sweden and this week it is #11 on the album Top20, but it has previously peaked as be the best selling album.

Kikki Danielsson who represented Sweden at the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest with Bra Vibrationer has released a Greatest hits album that is currently #15 on the Swedish album Top20.
