Slovakia’s selection process ends its first stage, with four more acts progressing to the semi-final stage. They have now come one step closer to picking the song that will represent the country at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in May in Oslo.
The final four lucky songs moving through to the semi-finals were picked tonight. With the format the same as ever, Martin ‘Pyco’ Rausch hosted the show, and Martin Kontúr was the Green Room correspondent conducting various interviews during the night.
The final 10 quarter-finalists were:
- Ivana Poláčková – So Mnou Všetko Smieš
- Maroš Bango – Ty Tu Ticho Spíš
- Stopa – Nightsong
- Družina – Koniec Sveta
- Soňa – Skús Ma Viesť
- Marcel & Tomáš Palonder feat. Street Dance Academy – Slová Slov
- Otto Weiter & Makar Čudra – Vrtká
- Miro Jaroš – Bez Siedmeho Neba
- Aya – Do Neba Volám
- Happyband – Mafiánska
The lucky four were again selected by 100% text (SMS) voting. Would stand out name Marcel Palonder be lucky? As ever, the results were announced by calling the 10 acts on stage and eliminating them one by one. The results were as follows:
- Soňa – Skús Ma Viesť (17.7%)
- Miro Jaroš – Bez Siedmeho Neba (16.3%)
- Aya – Do Neba Volám (15.7%)
- Maroš Bango – Ty Tu Ticho Spíš (14.8%)
- Družina – Koniec Sveta (14.7%)
- Stopa – Nightsong (8.5%)
- Ivana Poláčková – So Mnou Všetko Smieš (3.7%)
- Marcel & Tomáš Palonder feat. Street Dance Academy – Slová Slov (3.4%)
- Happyband – Mafiánska (2.9%)
Otto Weiter & Makar Čudra – Vrtká (2.3%)
The semi-finals take place on 14 and 21 February. From now on, the songs will be chosen by a 50/50 mix of text (SMS) and jury voting.
