Eurovision 2014: Norway and Sweden allocated in each their semi-final

Just like for this year two Nordic countries have been placed in each their semi-final. With Denmark being host country for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, their neighbours Norway and Sweden have been drawn in advance to be allocated into the semi-finals.

For this year’s Eurovision Song Contest Denmark and Norway was, in advance, placed in each their semi-final. Next year it will be Norway and Sweden in that situation, which is mentioned to be for ticketsale reasons.

A draw at EBU headquaters in Geneva, Switzerland have placed Sweden in the first semi-final for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest and Norway in the second one.

Norway missed out on the final in 2007 and 2011, while Sweden only failed the qualification in 2010.

For the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Copenhagen, host country Denmark is automatically qualified for the final together with the big5; United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany and Italy.

A draw will later decide in which semi-final the remaining participating countries will participate.
