Tonight, Slovenia found its winner to represent it in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, Norway. Ansambel Roka Zlindre & Kalamari received the most votes, an amazing 15907!
Slovenia is one of the countries which will participate in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The song was chosen through the well established EMA contest, organised by Radiotelevizija Slovenija (RTV SLO). The selection process of Slovenia this year was put in the hands of television viewers, who voted by 100% by televoting. All songs are in the Slovenian language, because they said it is a good way to promote Slovenian culture and the language.
The stage was modern, with a silver setting and a good and colourful spotlight. In the front of the stage were the audience, who were in a good mood, supporting all the participants with applause.
The semi-final of EMA 2010 was held on 20th February in Ljubljana. Interval acts in the semi-final were provided by Bosnia and Herzegovina’s 2009 Eurovision entry, Regina, Slovene 2008 Eurovision singer Rebeka Dremelj, and former EMA participants, Natalija Verboton and Eva Cherne.

The hosts opened the voting after the last song had finished performing and the lines were open for 10 minutes. One of the interval acts in the final was Eurovision 2009 winner Alexander Rybak (performing the songs Europe’s skies and Fairytale). When the host asked him if he found his fairytale, he made a joke and said that he found even three girls! The rest of the entertainment in the interval was Tinkara Kovač, former Slovene Eurovision entry and runner-up of EMA 2009 Omar Naber, former EMA runner-up in 2005 and 2006 Sasha Lendero, and last year’s EMA winner and Slovene Eurovision representative, Quartissimo.
After those performances, the hosts read out the votes, and a maximum 15907 votes went to Ansambel Roka Zlindre & Kalamari with the song Narodno zabavni rock. The song is sweet and performers were traditionaly dressed.
