A jury have selected 62 songs to go forward and take part in the next phase of selecting Malta’s 2012 Eurovision Song Contest entry.  The jury had a massive job of sifting through 161 entries.  Fabrizio Faniello (Malta 2001, 2006) is amongst the competitors.

Some popular names from previous national finals are also taking part again including Eleanor Cassar, Claudia Faniello, Amber, Dorothy Bezzina, Lawrence Gray and Romina Mamo.  Also, popular up and coming singers including Danica Muscat and Domenique are through to the next round.

In the next part of the competition all 62 songs will have to be performed live in front of a jury.
