The Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) in Malta have announced that 141 songs have been submitted for the 2011 national selection. This is up on the last selection where there were 123 songs entered.
This year the contest is open to foreign composers providing the song is performed by a Maltese act. It is known that songs have been submitted from the following countries United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Canada, Norway, Israel, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain.
It is not known yet when the judges will hear the songs but announcement will be made soon on the phase of the competition.
