A total of 134 submitted entries were narrrowed down to now 20 who competed in tonight’s semi-final with the hope of becoming Malta’s representative for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. To reach that they first had to make it through to tomorrow’s final. 14 acts did so.
Tonight’s semi-final in the Maltese selection were held at a shipyard in Marsa, the exact same place the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place last Saturday. 20 acts competed in the hope to reach the final which takes place tomorrow evening.
Some familar faces were among the 20 acts, three of them with previous Eurovision experience. Glen Vella who represented Malta in 2011 with the song One Life, but didn’t qualify for the international final can be glad that he did continue to the final tomorrow. That joy can be shared by Gianluca Bezzina, who represented Malta in 2013 and tonight went to the final as a part of the group L-Ahwa, which is him and five of his siblings, but also by Ludwig Galea (Eurovision 2004) in the group Trilogy.
