Eurovision 2015: Estonia’s second rehearsal

Estonia will be performing 7th in the upcoming First Semi Final this Tuesday. The country is represented by Elina Born & Stig Rästa with the song Goodbye To Yesterday . Are there any changes since the country’s first rehearsal? What is the impression left by the song amongst the other entries in the running order? We try to answer your questions reporting live from inside the hall of Wiener Stadthalle.

There is a good reason why Estonia is one of the hot favourites this year. It is a good song in the good American sound that gave another duet, that time from the Netherlands, a second place in last year’s Eurovision. Stig’s vocals let the song down by a considerable degree during Estonia’s first rehearsal. This time round his singing as well as the Estonian presentation as a whole have improved considerably. The duo look good together and look relaxed (perhaps overtly relaxed in the case of Stig who looks laid back to the point of disengagement).

There was an hour’s lunch break between the Greek and the Estonian rehearsal. The two songs are very different but my view is that Greece should create a good impression making Estonia’s job just a (perhaps tiny) bit harder. Nevertheless, unless there is a big surprise, the favourite from Estonia should make it through to the final without problems. It has to be mentioned that the press centre was a bit reluctant to give the Estonian entry an applause –  there were only about three people clapping after the song’s penultimate run (one of which was me).

Estonia has managed to qualify four out of the eleven times the country has competed in the semi finals.
