Three former Eurovision participants – Vanna, Jacques Houdek and Maya Sar – have joined together to support a good case. Yesterday, they released a song, which is dedicated to children with special needs.
The song which Vanna, Jacques Houdek, Neno Belan and Maya Sar perform together is titled Kao Sva Djeca, which translates to ‘Like All Children’ in English.
About the artists
Vanna, whose real name is Ivana Ranilović-Vrdoljak, represented Croatia at 2001 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, where she came 10th in the final with the song Strings Of My Heart.
Jacques Houdek tried to represent Croatia in the contest many times. At last he succeeded back in 2017 when he internally was chosen to perform the song My Friend in Kyiv. He finished 13th in the grand final. This year, he wrote the Croatian entry The Dream, performed by Roko, but they didn’t manage to qualify for the final.
Maya Sar, born Maja Sarihodžić, represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, with her own song Korake Ti Znam (The Steps I Know). She finished in 18th place in the final.
Neno Belan is a Croatian singer and songwriter. He competed twice in the Croatian national final “Dora” – in 1994, where he finished 14th out of 21 songs, and in 2005, where he finished last in his semi-final.
About the song
Kao Sva Djeca is a song, which is dedicated to children with special needs. Actually, the song is supporting the regional project called “Snaga djece u pokretu” (Youth Movement Power), whose purpose is inclusion of children with the special needs by including them in sport activities.
Vanna, Jacques Houdek, Neno Belan and Maya Sar are ambassadors for this project. The song they perform is sort of an international hymn, whose message is that all children are equal, beautiful, worthy and individualists, and that they all are entitled to a quality development and childhood without prejudices.
Children, who appear in the video are students from Maya Sar’s own music school.
Kao Sva Djeca is written by Maya Sar. You can watch the video for the song in the link below:
