How much do the Danish participants know about Melodi Grand Prix?

The names revealed for this year’s Danish final includes quite a lot more or less unknown participants. At today’s press conference they were tested at just how much they actually know about the contest they are now entering – test yourself to see if you know more than they do.

Danish newspaper, BT, decided to ask some of the participants a few simple questions. Easy to answer for those who follow the contest and a bit more difficult for the ones who don’t, but at least everyone should know who brought home a 4th position to Denmark at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, right?
You can test yourself by answering these questions:

  1. How many times have Denmark won the Eurovision Song Contest?
  2. Who won the Danish final in 1977?
  3. Which year did the Olsen Brothers win?
  4. What is the name of the ones who won last year’s final and what is the song called?
Here you can see what the participants answered. Do you believe your did better than them? The correct answers can be seen in the comments below the article.
Question one: How many times have Denmark won the Eurovision Song Contest?
Christopher Brandt: I know that. It is three times.
Sine Vig: Am I allowed to just guess? Two or three times? I say three.
Le Freak: Two times. 1963 and 2000.
Jeffrey: One time.
A Friend In London: It is two or three times… three. Let’s see, Ingmann and Olsen Brothers and who is the third?
Kat: Two times, I think.
Question two: Who won the Danish final in 1977?
Jeffrey: It must be Tommy Seebach… Disco Tango, right?
Christopher Brandt: Can’t you ask about 1985 instead? I am lost.
Sine Vig: Grethe and Jørgen were before… I don’t know.
A Friend In London: Peter Belli must be a good choice.
Kat: I know it was Dansevise, but I can’t remember their names.
Le Freak: From 1967 to 1977 there were no Danish final.
Question three: Which year did the Olsen Brothers win?
Sine Vig: It is a long time ago… it was in 2002.
Christopher Brandt: It was in 2003.
Jeffrey: 2009
A Friend In London: It was in 2000 or 2001… or was it 1999? No, 2000 or 2001.
Kat: 2001
Le Freak: 2000
Question four: What is the name of the ones who won last year’s final and what is the song called?
Sine Vig: I don’t remember. It was a man and a woman… what’s the song called? No, I don’t remember.
Christopher Brandt: Who was it? Evergreen… N’evergreen… no, I don’t know.
Jeffrey: That’s funny cause I’ve actually just heard it. A Moment Like This was the song called and it was a man and a woman. He was Russian and she was Philippians.
A Friend In London: Chanée & N’evergreen, if it is the Danish one you are thinking about and In A Moment Like This.
Kat: In A Moment Like This and it was Chanée & N’evergreen.
Le Freak: Chanée & N’evergreen. And we actually have to know that because it is the same songwriters who have written our song.
