Hallelujah, It’s Hard Rock Again For Finland

Finland had two shows in one this evening as they held their second chance round and the final at the same time.

The two songs from each semi-final which didn’t qualify competed against each other for the remaining two places in the final. The six songs were;

Ninja – The Battlefield of Love
Jippu – Kanna Minut
Crumbland – Pleasure
Hanna Marsh – Broken Flower
Vuokko Hovatta – Virginia
Jenna – Sinua Varten

After an interval provided by Aikakone, the results were announced. Through to the final were Crumbland and Vuokko Hovatta.

The six songs which qualified directly from the semi-finals were;

Movetron – Cupido, an electro-pop song
Kristian Meurman – Jos En Sua Saa, a soft rock ballad
Cristal Snow – Can’t Save Me, another electro-pop song
Mikael Konttinen – Milloin, which sounds like a James Bond theme
Teräsbetoni – Missä Miehet Ratsastaa, a thumping rock number
Kari Tapio – Valaise yö, an old fashioned Finnish ballad

After these songs had performed in the order above, Crumbland and Vuokko Hovatta sang for the second time this evening.

A public phone vote reduced eight songs to three. Cristal Snow, Teräsbetoni and Kari Tapio performed again while the public voted once more and for the final time. When the lines closed, the results were announced in reverse order. In third place, Cristal Snow with 27% of the vote. In second place, Kari Tapio with 33% so the winner is Teräsbetoni with 38.9%.
