FYR Macedonia ready for national selection

Out of 142 submitted songs MRKTV has now announced which 32 songs will compete for the honour of representing the country
at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. A draw will divide the 32 acts into two semi-finals, from where half will make it to the final.

Tamara, Vrcak & Adrijan represented FYR Macedonia in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with the song called Let Me Love You, but the rest of Europe didn’t love them enough to let them qualify for the final. That is the first time ever Macedonia has not qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest final. The country’s best placement however is a 12th position from 2006,
achieved by Elena Risteka with Ninanajna.

The Former Yugoslavian Republic Of Macedonia will be hosting its 2009 national selection over three days with semi-finals
on 19th and 20th of February with the final being the day after.
