Elena Gheorghe Will Bring “The Balkan Girls” to Moscow

Romania has decided that Elena Gheorghe will represent Romania at Eurovision 2009 in Moscow after she managed to conquer both the public and the jury. Elena was second in the televoters preferences, but she was able to overcome the girls from Blaxy Girls with the points that she received from the specilist jury.

Elena Gheorghe comes from the family of a priest, and she believes strongly that the most important thing in the world is her family. When she was only three years old, she debuted on the popular music scene with her mother. In 2003, she become the singer of the latino band Mandinga who achieved a lot of success. Now she is one of the best female voices in Romania, singing with many Romanian singers. After the final, Elena Gheorghe received the highest points from the jury, a result that it moved her into first place. The song, The Balkan Girls, was composed by Laurentiu Duta.
