The Macedonian broadcaster MKRTV announced that their national final will take place in Skopje on February 26th, 2011. 20 participants will compete to represent the Balkan country in Düsseldorf. They were picked out of a total of 88 songs.

Last year FYR Macedonia was represented by Gjoko Tanevski and failed to qualify for the final for the third time in a row. The country’s best position reached Elena Risteska with Ninanajna in 2006. This year FYR Macedonia will perform in the second semi final on May 12th, 2011.
