Europond to represent Greece at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with a song in Pontic Greek?

It seems like things are settled in Greece. The broadcaster ERT have selected the group Europond to represent them at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in May this year. The song isn’t yet released, but it is mentioned to be performed in the Greek dialect Pontic.

After ERT took over again as the Greek broadcaster things have been unsure when it comes to the Greek selection of their entry for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Speculations as to whether or not they would opt for a national final or an internal selecting didn’t settled before the president of ERT spoke out about that he gathered a team around him to help select the right name. That name has now been selected as reliable Greek media reports that the band Europond will represent Greece at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. We have not yet been able to get an official confirmation from ERT, but reliable Greek news are confident.

The song hasn’t been announced yet, but information says that it will be performed in the Greek dialect Pontic. Europond isn’t a well known name in Greece, but their usual style is hip hop.
