What has the cities of Göteborg, Malmö, Skellefteå, Växjö, Linköping and Stockholm in common? They will all have the honour of hosting the Swedish national selection Melodifestivalen 2017.

Just like last year the last two years the Melodifestivalen tour kicks of with heat 1 in Göteborg and heat 2 in Malmö. Heat 3 will take place in Växjö which was host in 2002, 2005 and 2012. The 4th heat (were we found the winner from the last two years) will be held in Skellefteå, in then northern regions of Sweden and the city also hosted Melodifestivalen in 2005, 2009 and 2013.
Host for the second chance heat (andra chansen) will be Linköping who was host in 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2014. And the final will take place in Stockholm who hosted the final since 2002 and will be held in Friends Arena for the fourth year in a row.
