Meet Rykka, Jüri Pootsmann and Freddie

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is less than three weeks away. With three more artist profile videos out, let’s learn a bit more about the representatives from Switzerland, Estonia and Hungary.

With only a few days left before rehearsals begin in Stockholm for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, additional artist profile videos are being released to get to know the different acts competing at this year’s event.

Today, let’s find out a bit more from the artists representing Switzerland, Estonia and Hungary.

Rykka was born in Vancouver, Canada. She is actually the third Canadian representing Switzerland at the contest, after Céline Dion won in 1988 and Annie Cotton finished 3rd place in 1993.

Rykka however has Swiss roots and has always felt very close to her heritage as she grew up in a very tight Swiss community back in Vancouver. In her profile video, Rykka also explains that her song The Last Of Our Kind is about standing up for love and believe in.

The most important thing in Jüri Pootsmann’s life is being happy with what he does and that his friends and family are close by and support him.

In his profile video, Jüri explains that singing and music is what truly makes him happy, and he is very excited about the future and how his life as a singer is going in general.

Jüri will be performing his song Play in lucky number 13th during the first semi-final on May 10th.

Freddie is representing Hungary at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with Pioneer. He explains in his profile video that the song is about being brave enough not to stand in line, to love ourselves, solve all the problems found within ourselves.

He also speak about his musical influence and how he was involved in sports such as basketball.
