Through three pre selection shows the Norwegian population has chosen six songs for their national final held on Saturday, but there are still two open spots left to fight about.
Along with picking the six songs for the final, another six songs where chosen for a second chance contest. This contest is taking place Wednesday evening live from Stratos in Oslo. The six songs to fight are:
1. Podium – Lystgass
2. Tinkerbells – Hold On
3. Zuma – Always Always
4. Anne Hvidsten – A Little More
5. Lene Alexandra – Sillycone Valley
6. Ole Ivars – Som i himmelen
They are six very different songs and it can be hard to predict who will get the last two spots for the final. Some might say that Podium has an advantage as the Norwegians have always loved a good rock song while others will say that Ole Ivars’ ‘Som I Himmelen’ is the most traditional song and will in particular attract the female voters older than 50. Others again will claim that there is no way around Lene Alexandra who has an international career. The fact is that all six songs each has something to offer and are each targeting their group of voters. One thing is for sure though: the two winners of this second chance contest will compete in the final on Saturday and that they have to improve as they will already have lost once to two of the other seven songs in the final.
To vote you have to be in Norway and you can vote both via telephone and SMS. If you want to vote using your telephone you call 829 49 001-006 and chose the song number you want to vote for. If you prefer SMS you send a text message to 26600 with the number of the song you want to see in the final. You can vote on all six songs as soon as the show starts and the price is 5 NRK for both telephone and sms.
The two winners will in the final compete against Veronica Akselsen, Ann-Mari Andersen, Crash, Maria Haukaas Storeng, Torstein Sødal and King of Trolls.
