Eurovision Song Contest winner Alexander Rybak is popular in both the Netherlands and Belgium. De Toppers is doing well on the Dutch chart and in Belgium Hadise is on both the ones from Flanders and Wallonia, although the two charts are very different.
The Netherlands: The 2009 Eurovision Song Contest winner Alexander Rybak and his Fairytale is new on a second place on the Dutch single top100. On the same list we also find the Dutch entry Shine by De Toppers who didn’t manage to qualify for this year’s final. After 13 weeks on the list they are now in as #7. Kate Ryan, who represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, is new on the list as #80 with her single Your Eyes.
Ronan Keating, one of the songwriters behind this year’s Danish entry, Believe Again, is #31 on the album top100 with his latest album Songs For My Mother. Celine Dion, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988 representing Switzerland, is on the chart as #71 for My Love – Essential Collection. The official album containing all 42 songs from the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest is located as #3 on the Compilation top30. It has been 3 weeks on the chart and after the contest it has moved forward from being #11 to now third.
Two Eurovision Song Contest entries found its way to the Dutch download top50. Alexander Rybak’s Fairytale is second while De Toppers’ Shine is #16 with a total of 10 weeks on this chart.
Belgium (Flanders): On the Flemish single top50 we find the Turkish entry, Düm Tek Tek by Hadise, in a first position with 5 weeks in total on the list. The Norwegian winner, Alexander Rybak, is new as #5 and Yohanna’s Is It True coming second in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest for Iceland is new on the list as well as #36. Agnes, who took part in the 2009 Swedish selection, is #10 on the list with 7 weeks in total there for her single Release Me.
On the album top100 we find Ronan Keating’s Songs For My Mother as #23 with a total of 3 weeks on the list. Hadise’s album Fast Life is new as #26 while Celine Dion is #39 after a total of 30 weeks.
Belgium (Wallonia): Alexander Rybak and Hadise are also represented on the single top40 for Wallonia – although a bit further down the list. Fairytale is new as #20 and Düm Tek Tek is back on the list as #36 with a total of three weeks on the chart. Agnes’s Release Me is #34 with two weeks in total.
Patricia Kaas’ album Kabaret is after 14 weeks on the album top100 placed as #31. Patrick Fiori, who represented France in 1993, is #71 on the chart with his album Le Choses De La Vie. In total this album has been on the list for 25 weeks. Celine Dion is #81 with My Love – Essential Collection.
