Iceland reveals details of 2013 Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins selection for Eurovision

Iceland have provided information about their selection format for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest.  The broadcaster, RÚV, have advised twelve songs have been selected for the Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins national selection with six songs competing in two semi finals on 25 and 26 January 2013. 

The Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins final will take place on 2 February 2013 at the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík.  Three songs from each semi final will qualify for the final and a wild card will be selected by an expert jury.

The twelve songs selected and the composers/lyricists are –

  • Augnablik (Sveinn Rúnar Sigurðsson & Ingibjörg Gunnarsdóttir)
  • Ég á Líf (Örlygur Smári & Pétur Örn Guðmundsson)
  • Sá Sem Lætur Hjartað Ráða För (Þórir Úlfarsson & Kristján Hreinsson)
  • Þú (Davíð Sigurgeirsson)
  • Vinátta (Haraldur Reynisson)
  • Ekki Líta Undan (Sveinn Rúnar Sigurðsson & Ingibjörg Gunnarsdóttir)
  • Kem Til þín (María Björk Sverrisdóttir)
  • Lífið (Hallgrímur Óskarsson & Bragi Valdimar Skúlason)
  • Ég Syng! (Elíza Newman, Gísli Kristjánsson, Ken Rose & Hulda G. Geirsdóttir)
  • Til þín (Sveinn Rúnar Sigurðsson & Ágúst Ibsen)
  • Meðal Andanna (Birgitta Haukdal, Sylvía Haukdal Brynjarsdóttir & Jonas Gladnikoff, Michael James Down & Primoz Poglajen)
  • Hjartað (Hallgrímur Óskarsson & Ashley Hicklin)
  • All the songs will be performed in the Icelandic language.  The performers are not yet known but will be revealed shortly.
