Today the official logo for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö was revealed. The message is We are one! The logo features a butterfly. The theme artwork was developed by the host broadcaster, SVT. The broadcaster wanted to emphasise the unique values of the Eurovision and value the diversity of all countries and that everyone is equal.
"This year’s theme reflects that timeless feeling millions of people will experience in May this year, when Europe comes together to celebrate its diversity," said Jon Ola Sand, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest.
It was agreed the Eurovision Song Contest is a project that unites millions of people all around Europe and the world. To some people the Eurovision may appear trivial but millions of viewers will disagree.
The butterfly theme is to show that butterflies exist in lots of different shapes and forms and colours. This is just like the Eurovision Song Contest which has one identity but many different national cultures and everyone is together and works together to achieve their goals – indeed We are one!
Thank you to F & B and Forsman & Bodenfors who have created this year’s design.
