Düsseldorf asks citizens for help to organize accommodations

The citizens of Düsseldorf were asked to help to organize accommodations for the visitors of the Eurovision Song Contest. A special network was created to offer private rooms.

The city expects 35.000 spectators for the Eurovision final on May 14th, 2011. Additionally there will be spectators at the dress rehearsal as well as the two semi finals. As there are only 23.400 hotel beds in total the website www.esc-privaterooms.de was created. 300 people are already registered to offer private rooms or apartments which cost between 25 and 150 euros per night.

Hotels in the centre of Düsseldorf are nearly fully booked. The remaining hotels offer prices up to 350 euro per night.
