It’s well over a year now since Marija Serifovic finished her whirlwind tour of six participating Eurovision countries. This year the tour is back and it’s Dima’s turn. The tour has been slightly extended for 2008 with the total number of stops increasing to eight.
This year’s stops are all in the so called ‘Western Europe’ and the pattern of stops seems to be better planned than last year’s tour which jumped from one side of Europe to the other and then back again.
The tour began in Finland yesterday with an appearance on a popular breakfast TV show. Dima barely managed to get their in time after missing his plane because of traffic congestion in Moscow. After only a half day in Finland the delegation quickly moved on to Sweden. They will visit Oslo tonight and then Ireland will be Dima’s next appearance.
During his stay in Dublin Dima will appear on the most watched Irish TV chat show ‘The Late Late Show’. This will most likely be the most Eurovision related stop of the entire tour as the show is being used as the selection show for Ireland’s 2008 Eurovision Dance Contest entrants. Their is a further Eurovision link as one of the dancers competing in the final is the son of 1966 Eurovision entrant Dickie Rock. Richard Rock will be dancing with professional dancer Kelly Smith.
The tour will go on to visit the United Kingdom, Belgium and France before finishing up in San Marino on the 3rd of June.
