Lithuania will be performing 1st in the upcoming Second Semi Final this Thursday. The country is represented by Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila with the song This Time. Are there any changes since the country’s first rehearsal? What is the impression left by the song amongst the other entries in the running order? We try to answer your questions reporting live from inside the hall of Wiener Stadthalle.
This will be a sweet, colourful start to the semi final that often gets close to appearing a bit corny but, luckly, never crosses the boundary into doing so. It looks as if the presentation has fallen into place for this inoffensive entry. The graphics and lighting remain unchanged since Lithuania’s first rehearsal. The ‘come on, Eurovision’ invitation from Vaidas is still there unfortunately but he is now doing it with more confidence and gusto than the first rehearsal and gets a warm reaction from the people who are watching the Lithuanian performance from inside the hall. The final shot is now carried out having Monika and Vaidas leaning their heads against each other with their backs to the crowd – Vaidas does an inquisitive ‘so-so?’ nod with his head but both singers look fairly pleased with the way their rehearsal went Whether right or not, many of the people present inside the press hall are only loosely paying attention to this rehearsal – I mean that in the sense that the song does not get the same attention as some countries such as Russia, Estonia or Greece got yesterday. Lithuania might be a suprise qualifier I guess.
Lithuania has managed to qualify six times out of the eleven times the country has been in the semi finals.
